We try to send it weekly but we're human beings and stuff. Also, there's the dog, and she kinda runs the show.

If you've been mulling over changing careers into coding, there's a lot between the decision moment and starting a new job.
And let's be real: Between the technical skills, the soft skills, the interviews, code challenges and all the frustration that comes with it... it isn't easy. We've been there.
Neither of the authors of this site started in Web Development (Melissa - Journalism & Pat - Liberal Arts). We both started from scratch. We know what it takes.
Let us help you reach your goal. We've learned a lot about what it takes that and Melissa and I would like to share with you.
You're not alone.
Pat has a political - science degree and considers himself an artist first and foremost. He is a self-taught front-end developer at a startup in Virginia, an instructor at General Assembly and proud dog dad.
Melissa studied journalism and political science in Seattle and went to a coding boot camp. She is now a front-end architect at The Washington Post, an instructor at General Assembly and proud dog mama.
We've been there (especially Pat). You're lost, confused, a little angry. You feel stupid, and when you ask for help you're met with the Asshole Senior Dev who tells you to Google your error.
Well, that might work for some people, we're going to be more gentle around here. We're going to be nice.
Get it? Hello? -> "Jello"? hahahaha
Coding is hard enough, there's no reason to make it harder.
There's something in our field called Imposter Syndrome where you think you're a fraud because you don't have a computer science background.
Leeeetttttsss... not do that here. You're not a fraud.
At Front-End Careers, we know what you're going through. Come talk to us and we'll use plain English and get to the bottom of whatever is blocking you.
Everyone is welcome.
Pat was a Boy Scout growing up and it had a sincere positive impact on the way he wants to conduct business. Shout out to Catalina Council.
A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly , Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent.
That's what you can expect around here.
Pat does like his F-bombs, so expect a few of those.
There are lots of ways to make money on the internet, but tricking and taking advantage of someone isn't going happen around here.
All product reccomendations, suggestions, classes, courses or plans are made with 100% honest intentions.
We're willing to pass up money because your trust is more important to us.
